Fees
Hourly
Research:
>$25.00
per hour with a 4 hour minimum (client does not pay for travel time)
>Actual
cost of copies as charged by repository
>If
research requires travel outside of Harris County and adjacent counties,
mileage will be charged at a rate of $.505 per mile
>If
research requires overnight travel, mileage, and travel expenses or a
per diem of $150 per overnight will be charged.
A
50% non-refundable deposit is required for all new clients. The
clients will be billed for the remaining 50% and miscellaneous fees
(i.e. copies and mileage). Billing occurs when the project is completed for small
projects and monthly for larger projects.
Part
of my research time includes a preliminary survey of the research
question and relevant materials the client has provided, developing a
research plan, and composing my final report.
Look-ups:
Instead
of hourly research, you may request look-ups in specific records, i.e.
census records, obituaries, marriage records, etc.
>Flat
fee of $25.00 per look-up
>Actual
cost of copies as charged by repository
New
clients must pay the flat fee up front and will be billed for the cost
of copies when mailed.
Tombstone
and other photography:
>$7
per photo/medium (the photo can be sent as a print and/or as a digital
image on a CD)
>Hourly
charges will apply if the locality is outside of Harris County and
adjacent counties.
Probate,
Heirship Determination, and other Court-related research:
>$50
per hour with a 10 hour minimum (client does not pay for travel time)
>Expenses
including but not limited to repository search fees, document copies,
parking, microfilm rental fees, and travel expenses.
